During its 2011 annual conference the German-Russian Forum will explore civic engagement and modernization under the motto “The modern city – a challenge for states and their citizens”. The discussions will also focus on the citizen-state relationship and the involvement of civil society.

Since 1993, the German-Russian Forum has been organizing dialogue and exchange between German and Russian civil societies. Political and economic issues are discussed under its auspices and it serves as a forum for cultural exchange, for fostering young talent and for regional cooperation.

The annual conference is organized in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office and the Bertelsmann Foundation.
