Foreign Minister Westerwelle to open second external economic affairs day for medical technology
On 6 October, the Federal Foreign Office, the German High‑tech Industry Association SPECTARIS and the German Healthcare Export Group will hold the second external economic affairs day for the medical technology sector. Foreign Minister Westerwelle will give the opening address.
Medical technology firms have a stronger international orientation than the average German company and are indeed major exporters. The objective of the external economic affairs day is to give industry representatives practical tips for expanding their international trade. Up to 150 participants from the medical technology sector are expected to attend.
External economic promotion is one of the Foreign Service’s main tasks. The Federal Foreign Office and its more than 220 missions abroad aid and assist German firms worldwide. The missions’ economic sections are above all keen to help small and medium‑sized enterprises doing business abroad.
