“The assumption of responsibility for customs controls in northern Kosovo today by the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, EULEX, is an important step for the free movement of goods and the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
All sides are now called upon to contribute to de-escalation and to desist from doing anything that would foment conflict or impede the peaceful implementation of the dialogue agreement.
It is just as important that they cooperate fully with the international community, especially with the EU and EULEX. In light of the fragile situation there is no justification for polarizing rhetoric.”
