German-Egyptian cooperation within the scope of the Egyptian transformation process will be the focus of the talks between Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and his counterpart, Mohammed Kamel Amr. The two Foreign Ministers will also discuss the situation in Syria and the rest of the region.

The visit to Berlin tomorrow by the new Egyptian Foreign Minister is one stop on his first trip abroad since assuming office on 21 July. His predecessor, Nabil El-Araby, has been the Secretary General of the Arab League since the beginning of July.
