Federal Minister Westerwelle grieved by helicopter crash in Afghanistan
Responding to the helicopter crash which occurred in the Afghan province of Wardak, near Kabul, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement today (6 August):
“It is with great sadness that I have received news that a helicopter carrying a large number of American and Afghan soldiers has crashed in Wardak, eastern Afghanistan. On behalf of the whole of the German Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the American and Afghan Governments and to the victims’ families.”
