Minister of State Hoyer to open exhibition on the Tunisian Revolution

At the beginning of the year, the people of Tunisia made history with their peaceful revolution against the dictatorship of Ben Ali. They were the first in North Africa to open the door to democracy through their own efforts. Powerful images from those days of upheaval in Tunisia are now coming to Berlin. The Federal Foreign Office is showing works by ten Tunisian photographers who participated in the revolution.

Together with the Minister of the Interior of Tunisia, Habib Essid,

Minister of State Werner Hoyer, Member of the Bundestag,

will open the exhibition “Dégage” (get lost!)

on 13 July 2011 at 5.30 p.m.

in the atrium of the Federal Foreign Office.
