Minister of State Pieper receives honorary professorship from the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Cornelia Pieper will visit the Jan Kochanowski University of Humanities and Sciences in Kielce on Wednesday (22 June). At a ceremony there she will be awarded the honorary professorship of the political science department for her contributions to German-Polish relations. The event begins on 22 June at 10.00 a.m. and will be followed by a press conference at 11.15 a.m.
Having visited the university in the fall of 2010, this is the Minister of State’s second trip to Kielce. As Coordinator for Intersocietal and Cross-Border Cooperation, the expansion of German-Polish academic relations is of special concern to her.
The capital of the voivodship has been a partner city of Gotha in Thuringia since 1997. The Minister of State will be accompanied by, among others, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Dr Marek Prawda, who was born in Kielce.
