Federal Minister Westerwelle condemns suicide bombing in Pakistan

13.05.2011 - Press release

Over 70 people are reported killed in a suicide bombing by the Taliban on a Pakistan army training centre in the north-west of the country. Speaking this morning (13 May) in Rostock, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said:

“I condemn this horrific and cowardly attack. We share the grief of the people of Pakistan and those who have lost loved ones and we wish those who have been injured a speedy recovery.
As these brutal killings make clear, the terrorist threat has by no means vanished following Osama bin Laden’s death. Both the international community and Pakistan itself must continue to take resolute action against terrorism.”
