Foreign Minister Westerwelle: mourning for victims of suicide attack in Iraq
A suicide attack on a police station in the Iraqi city of Hilla today killed numerous people and injured many others. Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement:
“I am filled with sadness at the deaths of so many young people. My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims.
Germany will continue to support Iraq in its process of political and social stabilization. Just yesterday I assured my Iraqi colleague Hoshyar Zebari of this in Berlin.”
Federal Foreign Minister Westerwelle met with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari yesterday (4 May). The conversation focused on the situation in Iraq following the successful formation of a new government, as well as bilateral relations, especially concerning economic issues.
