Minister of State Hoyer on new threat scenarios and networked security – invitation to opening speech

There are various threats to our security: cyber attacks, international terrorism, endangered energy security, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, climate change. Various fora and organizations such as the United Nations, the EU, NATO and the OSCE are looking for solutions.

The conference “Emerging Security Challenges and the Comprehensive Approach” taking place from 5-7 April is being organized by the Federal Foreign Office and the George C. Marshall Center. It will offer international organizations, government institutions from the Euro-Atlantic region and academia the chance to exchange views and discuss the following topics:

- What new types of threat to our security are there?

- How can we tackle these threats with a networked security approach?

- What political approaches should be developed to stem the threats?
