As of Tuesday (1 March), works by contemporary Chinese artists are being shown in the atrium of the Federal Foreign Office. The exhibition, “Eccentric Expressions China”, contains paintings by such renowned Chinese artists as Yin Zhaoyang, Zhang Qikai, Tian Taiquan, Teng Ying, Zhao Yongkang, Chen Jiagang, Wen Zhongyan and Jiny Lan. The exhibition was initiated by and created in collaboration with Prof. Yu Zhang, Managing Director of China Communications and head of GeKA e. V., the association for German-Chinese exchange.
As a common theme running through the exhibition, contemporary Chinese artists engage with the state of mind of the individual in a globalized world.
Minister of State Cornelia Pieper will open the exhibition in the atrium of the Federal Foreign Office on
Tuesday, 1 March 2011, at 6.30 p.m.
The Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Wu Hongbo, will give a short speech.
The paintings will be on display every weekday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. for the whole of March.
