06.12.2010 - Press release

Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will travel to Paris tomorrow (7 December) where he will join the German painter Neo Rauch in opening an exhibition of the artist’s work.

Three of Rauch’s paintings will be displayed in the Palais Beauharnais, the residence of the German Ambassador in Paris, from tomorrow through the middle of next year. The centre-piece of the exhibition is the painting “Der Geborgene”, which Rauch created specially for the Palais Beauharnais. The three paintings are being loaned to the Palais free of charge. The aim of the exhibition is to introduce Neo Rauch’s work to a French audience.

Foreign Minister Westerwelle will also meet former French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing in Paris.
