On Tuesday, 5 October, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, President of the Argentine Republic, for talks in Frankfurt.
Following their talks Federal Minister Westerwelle and President Kirchner will together open the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Minister will give a speech during the opening ceremony at 5.00 p.m.
His attendance at the Book Fair, where Argentina is this year’s Guest of Honour, is part of the Federal Government’s increased efforts to enhance German-Latin American relations. In August Federal Minister Westerwelle presented the German Government’s new Strategy on Latin America, while in September Latin America was the focus of this year’s Ambassadors Conference at the Federal Foreign Office.
