Numerous Polish citizens lost their lives today in the crash of a Polish coach near Berlin, while other passengers were injured, some of them severely.

Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement today (26.09):

”I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic bus accident near Berlin that took the lives of so many Polish citizens.

This accident does not only move our Polish friends – it moves us too. At this difficult time, we offer our condolences and our deepest sympathy to the families and friends of the victims.

Firstresponders on site will do everything possible to save the lives of the severely injured.“
