Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle is to meet the Foreign Minister of Japan, Katsuya Okada, for talks on Tuesday (7 September).

Alongside current issues on the international agenda, the meeting will focus on deepening economic relations between the European Union and Japan and on the topic of disarmament and non-proliferation.

In a joint article published on Saturday, the two foreign ministers called for concerted efforts to move closer to the goal of a nuclear-free world (article appeared in the Wall Street Journal and is available for consultation at www.diplo.de).
