Yesterday the Israeli Security Cabinet agreed to ease the blockade of the Gaza Strip. Commenting on this development, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement today (21 June) in Berlin:

“I welcome this decision. It is an important and positive step that has the potential to improve the living conditions of the population in the Gaza Strip.

Now it is crucial that these decisions are implemented as quickly as possible.”
