Minister of State Hoyer to meet Ecuadorian Vice-President Moreno Garcés
On Tuesday (8 June) Werner Hoyer, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, is to hold talks with Ecuadorian Vice-President Lenín Voltaire Moreno Garcés at the Federal Foreign Office.
The agenda will include bilateral relations, especially in the economic and cultural field, as well as environmental issues. The meeting will also serve to prepare the visit in autumn 2010 of Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa.
In advance of the meeting, Minister of State Hoyer today (7 June) issued the following statement:
”For many years now German-Ecuadorian relations have been very amicable and based on mutual respect. We believe there is scope for a further expansion of our cooperation, particularly following the EU-Latin America Summit in mid-May in Madrid.“
Already in February 2010 a high-level delegation from the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) led by the Union’s Ecuadorian Chair visited the Federal Foreign Office to find out more about Europe’s experience in the field of security and confidence-building measures.
