Minister of State Hoyer to visit Slovak Republic

Tomorrow (Friday, 28 May), Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Werner Hoyer will travel to Bratislava for talks with the Slovak Government. During the visit, he will also meet with Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The talks will focus on developing bilateral relations, intensifying economic relations, overcoming the financial crisis and regional issues. The issues of political development in the Western Balkans and the European Union’s enlargement policy are also on the agenda.

Within the framework of the visit, Minister of State Hoyer will also meet with representatives of the political parties.

In connection with his forthcoming trip, Minister of State Hoyer today (27 May) issued the following statement:

Germany regards the Slovak Republic as a close, reliable partner within the European Union. We intend to further intensify our good and amicable partnerships with the EU member states of Central and Eastern Europe.“
