Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued today (2 April) the following statement on the death of German soldiers in Kunduz, Afghanistan:

“I condemn this cowardly attack that targeted not only German soldiers but also the whole Afghan nation. In this difficult hour our thoughts are with the victims’ families and loved ones, to whom we offer our profound sympathy. To those who have been injured we wish a full and speedy recovery.”
