Concern about violence in central Nigeria
Following the unrest in central Nigeria, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement today (8 March):
”I am very concerned about the wave of violence in the name of religion in central Nigeria. The freedom to practice one’s religion is an elementary basic right. I therefore call upon all those concerned to remain calm. I expect the leaders in Nigeria to do all they can to restore peace and order.“
