Federal Minister Westerwelle on the Iraq elections
For the third time since the fall of Saddam Hussein, the people of Iraq has elected a new Parliament. Federal Foreign Minsiter Guido Westerwelle expressed his respect for the many courageous women and men who declared their support for democracy by participating in the elections.
Today (7 March) in Buenos Aires Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle had this to say regarding the elections in Iraq:
”I have the utmost respect for the many courageous women and men who declared their support for democracy by participating in the elections.
At the same time I condemn the attacks that cast a shadow over Iraq’s election day.“
