On 26 January, Federal Foreign Minister Westerwelle had a telephone conversation with Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Saleh.

President Saleh underscored the traditionally good relations between Yemen and Germany and asked the Federal Government to lend its greatest possible support for a stable Yemen at tomorrow's Yemen High Level Meeting in London.

Federal Minister Westerwelle pledged that Germany will contribute its share to more stability and development in Yemen.
