Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle met his Pakistan opposite number Mahmood Qureshi today (30 November).
During their frank and constructive talks he underlined Pakistan’s key role in the stability of the entire region. The two ministers agreed on intensifying German-Pakistan cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics and development, education, higher-education links and youth exchange. Minister Westerwelle also paid tribute to the Pakistan Government’s efforts to combat terrorism.
Following his talks with his counterpart, Westerwelle also had a brief exchange of views with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
