Minister of State for Europe Günter Gloser will travel to Muscat, Oman on 29 April to take part in the joint Cooperation Council and Ministerial Meeting between the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The meeting will focus on regional and global issues as well as the EU-GCC free trade agreement. Oman currently holds the chairmanship of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Subsequently, Minister of State Gloser will travel to Doha, Qatar on 30 April for political talks. There the Minister of State will meet with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H.E. Ahmad Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud and business representatives.

The Middle East peace process and economic issues will feature prominently in the talks in Qatar. Minister of State Gloser will also promote joint projects in Afghanistan.
