Following the series of attacks on a number of Afghan Government offices in Kabul, Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier condemned the attacks and assured that Germany and its partners would continue to help build an Afghan state that guarantees its citizens both security and freedom.

Following the series of attacks today on a number of Afghan Government offices in Kabul, Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier issued in Berlin today (11 February) the following statement:

“The Federal Government condemns categorically the murderous attacks on Afghan Government offices.

The victims of these attacks are innocent Afghans. To the families of the many who lost their lives we offer our profound sympathy. To all who have been injured we wish a full and speedy recovery.

Those behind these cowardly attacks clearly intended to disrupt the functioning of important institutions of the new Afghan state. Their calculations must be proved wrong!

Germany and its partners will continue to help build an Afghan state that guarantees its citizens both security and freedom.”
