Welcome
“Discover Logistics” finalists to visit the Federal Foreign Office
This coming Monday (12 January), the Federal Foreign Office will welcome the 47 finalists of the international initiative “Discover Logistics” to its headquarters at Werderscher Markt.
Over 8500 participants from more than 120 countries across the globe have taken part in the online logistics business simulation game since May 2008, and have done their best to transform their virtual logistics companies into international market leaders by taking the right management decisions. The ten best teams will face each other in the final from 11 to 15 January.
The initiative was launched by logistics giant DHL as a competition for graduates and young professionals up to the age of 26. Multinational cooperation and intercultural skills are important factors for success in the game – and also vital requirements for an international career.
The Federal Foreign Office has a considerable interest in nurturing the next generation of international management executives. Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is the patron of the initiative. The finalists will be received by Rüdiger Freiherr von Fritsch, the Director-General for Economic Affairs at the Federal Foreign Office, and Walter Scheurle, Personnel Director at Deutsche Post World Net.
