The talks focused on the dramatic situation in northern Iraq and the fate of the communities threatened by the terrorist organisation ISIS, in particular Yazidis and Christians.
State Secretary Stephan Steinlein and the representatives of the above‑mentioned organisations sought to gain a detailed picture of the escalating situation on the ground. Moreover, the possibility of additional German aid measures was discussed.
