In consultation with the Federal Foreign Office, the Bundeswehr has undertaken preparatory preventative measures in order to be able to repatriate German citizens from Israel should the situation deteriorate.

The aim is to ensure that the Federal Government has undertaken all necessary logistical precautionary measures for rapid airlifts by the German Air Force should civilian flights from Israel be suspended. The measures now taken include the secondment of joint crisis support teams from the Federal Foreign Office and Bundeswehr soldiers to Israel and neighbouring countries.

Should the situation deteriorate further, the Bundeswehr’s military evacuation force would be ready to act.
