The atrocious violence that has been perpetrated by Hamas against civilians in Israel is unprecedented and can in no way be justified. An immediate end must be brought to this terror. We stand in full solidarity with Israel.

We are closely coordinating with the Israeli authorities and our international partners, as well as intently monitoring the situation. Foreign Minister Baerbock is in contact with her counterparts in the region. The Federal Government’s crisis unit will be meeting at the Federal Foreign Office this afternoon.

Ensuring the safety of German nationals in the affected areas is a special priority for us. German nationals are therefore requested to follow the Federal Foreign Office’s travel and security advice and to enter, or if necessary update, their personal information in the register for emergency contact ELEFAND.
