Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock issued the following statement today (2 August) on the latest developments in the Niger:
We have already been able to fly over 40 Germans out of the Niger today and yesterday with the help of our French friends. Further flights will take place today. I would like to wholeheartedly thank my French counterpart Catherine Colonna for this. Our straightforward and pragmatic cooperation in times of crisis shows what Europe can achieve in foreign and security policy when we work together. The European Union is equally united and resolute in its support for international efforts to restore constitutional order in the Niger.
