Germany condemns the recent testing of a ballistic missile by North Korea in the strongest terms. With its launch of a ballistic missile, North Korea has once again flagrantly breached its obligations under relevant UN Security Council resolutions and is recklessly jeopardising regional and international security.

We call on North Korea to implement the decisions of the UN Security Council in full, to take up the offers of dialogue put forward by the United States and South Korea, and to take concrete, credible steps towards the complete, verifiable and irreversible ending of its programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.
