The German Government vehemently condemns the series of tests of several short-range ballistic missiles by North Korea. The tests constitute a violation of the obligations set out by the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and thus of international law. They not only jeopardise international and regional security and stability but also pose a risk to international air traffic and shipping.

The German Government urges North Korea yet again to refrain from carrying out further tests, to implement the decisions of the Security Council in full and to enter into a dialogue on the complete, verifiable and irreversible ending of its programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.
