Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel today (8 March) presented the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to Rabbi Dayan Ehrentreu. Rabbi Ehrentreu has been instrumental in helping to revitalise traditional Jewish life in Germany in the wake of the horrors of the Shoah.
