The anniversary was actually in 2020 but the celebrations had to be postponed because of the pandemic: To mark the 100th anniversary of Germany establishing diplomatic relations with the Holy See, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas received Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin in Berlin.
On 11 and 12 May, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will be in Italy and the Vatican. His visit will focus on overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, global efforts to foster peace and the interfaith dialogue.
