Federal Foreign Office on the approval of the Israeli Government’s “transparency bill”
A Federal Foreign Office Spokesperson issued the following statement today (13 July) on the passing of the Israeli Government’s new “transparency bill”:
Civil society engagement and the work done by NGOs are key pillars of any liberal democracy. It is regrettable that a new NGO law which restricts the scope for action of Israeli civil society players has now been adopted in Israel. We hope that civil society organisations in Israel will continue to have the leeway they need to do their important work.
