On 17 June 2015, on the occasion of the 2nd Climate Diplomacy Day (#ClimateDiploDay), the Federal Foreign Office, the French Embassy and the British Embassy in Berlin are hosting a panel discussion in the French Embassy.
On 17 June, European Embassies around the globe are celebrating Climate Diplomacy Day for the second time. Climate Diplomacy Day aims to raise awareness for climate change and the need for joint action. Over the past year, Germany, France and the UK have launched joint projects under the umbrella of Climate Diplomacy Day in over 30 countries. This year will also see widespread activities.
A few months before the global summit in Paris, climate policy‑makers are still working on the international framework conditions for an ambitious global agreement. The panel discussion in the French Embassy is addressing concrete measures to combat climate change. The participants will look at the effects of climate change at the local level, propose political measures, including measures to be implemented at the international level, and will discuss the role of the EU.
