Foreign Minister Westerwelle will join Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland at the German Historical Museum on Tuesday (16 October) to open the Council’s current exhibition of art in Europe since 1945, entitled The Desire for Freedom. The opening, including speeches by the Minister and Secretary General, will be open to the press.
Before going to the museum, Minister Westerwelle and Secretary General Jagland will meet at the Foreign Office for a discussion. Since 2009, Mr Jagland has also been the Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
The Desire for Freedom is an exhibition assembling pieces by 113 European artists who have worked on the subject of freedom since 1945.Further information can be found online at:
