German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation begins its work

02.11.2008 - Press release

Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will open the constituent meeting of the Board of Trustees of the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation with a joint strategy discussion on the aims of the Foundation at the Federal Foreign Office tomorrow (3 November). This session marks the beginning of the Foundation's work.

The idea of establishing a German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation was born in 2005 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and Israel. The Foundation will promote innovative, forward-looking projects in both countries. The goal is to involve young people in particular in shaping bilateral relations and to thereby contribute to developing a network of multipliers in both countries. The Foundation has an annual budget of 500,000 euro.
