Following yesterday evening's crash of a Polish Air Force transport plane near Miroslawiec, Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier today (24 January) sent a letter of condolence to his Polish opposite number Radoslaw Sikorski.
The letter read as follows:
“I was deeply shocked to learn of the tragic plane crash near Miroslawiec in which many officers of the Polish Air Force as well as the plane's crew perished.
Permit me to extend my sincere condolences to you and the people of Poland. At this difficult hour our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with all those who have lost friends and loved ones in this tragedy.”
