With more than twenty years’ experience, Judge Hohoff will make important and tangible contributions to the successful working of the ICC. She is exceptionally well qualified. In her position as Presiding Judge at the Higher Regional Court, she conducted fact-finding proceedings against persons accused of membership of foreign terrorist organisations. As a Judge at the Federal Court of Justice, she is responsible for appeals in cases brought under the German Code of Crimes Against International Law. Her remit also includes appeals on points of law relating to all categories of crimes, including violent and sexual offences, frequently against women and children. As result of her high judicial office and extensive experience, she is familiar with managing factually and legally complex criminal cases efficiently with a view to making just decisions.
