A Federal Foreign Office Spokesperson issued the following statement today (10 January):

“We condemn the heinous attacks in Kabul, which claimed the lives of many people and injured others, in the strongest possible terms. All our sympathy goes out to the victims and to their families and friends. Nothing can justify the Taliban’s violence against the Afghan people.

The Afghan people long for peace and stability. Together with the international community, Germany stands shoulder to shoulder with Afghanistan on this path.”
