From 9 to 14 December Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy Markus Löning is visiting Viet Nam for talks. He also hopes to gain a first-hand impression of the political and human rights situation there.

In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City he is due to have talks with government officials as well as representatives of the justice sector, civil society, non-governmental organizations, the business community and human rights defenders. He also plans to visit a prison and a textiles factory.
