Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will welcome his Canadian counterpart John Baird to Villa Borsig tomorrow (Tuesday).

The meeting will focus on German-Canadian relations as well as international topics such as Syria, Iran, the Middle East peace process and Afghanistan.

This is Foreign Minister Baird’s first bilateral visit to Germany. He previously attended the Afghanistan Conference in Bonn. Ministers Baird and Westerwelle met most recently at the G8 Foreign Minister Meeting in Washington on 11-12 April, and Foreign Minister Westerwelle visited Canada in March 2010.
