The Culture Train links Berlin and the surrounding region with Wrocław. The Mayor of Wrocław hopes that it will become a regular connection in the future. Woidke said that it must be possible to reconnect the two cities by train in an acceptable time.

Cooperation in a spirit of partnership and trust

Author Uwe Rada chaired the discussion between Dietmar Woidke and Rafał Dutkiewicz during their train journey. This also marked the start of a new series called “Talks on the Road”. Both politicians are themselves living proof of what form diverse and productive cooperation in a spirit of friendship and trust between Germany and Poland can take. Dietmar Woidke, Coordinator of German-Polish Intersocietal and Cross-Border Cooperation, underlined that Land Brandenburg and Lower Silesia have been working closely together for a long time and in many different fields.

For the Minister-President of Land Brandenburg, this was another reason why Wrocław was the perfect venue for the 10th World Games, where he awarded gold medals to both the German women’s and men’s canoe polo teams following exciting finals.

Commenting on the current situation in Poland, Woidke said that questions on the separation of powers in Poland could ultimately only be answered and resolved by the Polish people themselves. However, he hoped that all outstanding questions would be answered in the interests of Europe.
