Germany is assisting the Afghan Government in building a police force that enjoys public confidence and respects the rule of law. The German Government is helping to ensure that the Afghan police are increasingly able to perform their duties on their own and assume responsibility for internal security. more

Internal security in Afghanistan is the prerequisite for the country’s peaceful development. Since June 2007, within the scope of the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), the civilian mission EUPOL Afghanistan has been supporting the Afghan Government with the development of the police force and the establishment of the rule of law. more
