New logo for German projects abroad
The new logo for German cooperation abroad
Making Germany’s commitment abroad more visible and recognizable – that is the aim of a new logo unveiled by Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle together with Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel on 25 May.
In future, this new cooperation logo is to mark all German contributions to development cooperation projects as well as those in other spheres, for example humanitarian aid or crisis prevention. The new logo was designed by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. It replaces the logo with the federal eagle which has been used for German development projects abroad since 1992. The new logo is to make the German commitment more visible but also more recognizable.
Three versions for different fields
The new logo with the flag of the partner country
There are three versions of the new logo:
- For bilateral projects: Here the logo is in two languages and the flag of the partner country is depicted beside the German flag.
- For multilateral projects: Here projects also have a bilingual logo. The logo of other partner organizations can appear beside the German flag.
- In the humanitarian sphere: The logo is in German and English and only the German flag is used.
The Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development is making the new logo available to all ministries free of charge.
