The Coordinator of German-Polish Cooperation
Cornelia Pieper, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, is the Coordinator of German Polish Intersocietal and Cross Border Cooperation.
In 2004 the Governments of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland appointed Coordinators in order to further intensify the friendly and good-neighbourly relations between the two countries. On the Polish side the post is held by Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, State Secretary for Intercultural Dialogue in the Chancellery of the Polish Prime Minister.
In her role as Coordinator, Cornelia Pieper seeks to forge even closer societal and cultural ties between Germany and Poland, cultivate interpersonal dialogue and exchange at all levels and thereby contribute to the formation of a European consciousness.
