Efforts to end the bloody conflict in Syria are ongoing. Germany continues to call for an international conference on Syria to help pave the way for a political solution. Supporting the stabilization mission in Mali

Foreign Minister Westerwelle condemns fatwa against Hamed Abdel-Samad
In Egypt, a fatwa has been issued against German author Hamed Abdel-Samad. Foreign Minister Westerwelle expects the Egyptian Government to take action against those behind the threats. Russia: Protect the rights of sexual minorities!
The Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) has just passed a bill criminalizing the “propaganda of non traditional sexual relations to minors”.
