Country flag Andorra

Last updated in August 2009

Our relations with Andorra are traditionally friendly and straightforward. In 1994, Germany was the fourth state to recognize Andorra after it gained independence in 1993. Andorra’s close ties with the EU (Customs Union since 1991) and its membership in the United Nations, the OSCE and the Council of Europe have also intensified bilateral relations. There are some 300 German nationals living in Andorra.

The German Ambassador to Spain is also accredited to Andorra. The German Consulate-General in Barcelona is responsible for consular services there.

Ms. Carme Sala Sansa ended her term of office as Ambassador of the Principality of Andorra to Germany on 31 May 2009. Ms. Eva Descarrega Garcia has temporarily taken over official duties with respect to Germany as chargé d’affaires.
