“We must protect the climate together”

Daiju Narita from Japan is investigating the economic impacts of climate change. What damage will occur if the Earth continues to heat up? How can rich and poor countries best reach agreement on climate protection measures? These are the kinds of questions he is studying in an interdisciplinary network of economists and natural scientists.

With the Research and Academic Relations Initiative 2009 we hope to raise Germany's profile as a centre of research and strengthen networks linking German researchers with their colleagues around the world. The Initiative was launched at a conference at the Federal Foreign Office on 19 and 20 January. Events abroad were to follow.
